Sermon - Rabbi Elliot Cosgrove: Bystanders and Upstanders – November 16, 2019
Update: 2019-11-19
Description
Reflecting on scenes of murder and of rescue visited by the PAS Trip to Russia earlier this month, Rabbi Cosgrove suggests in his sermon “Bystanders and Upstanders” that the measure of moral stature put forth in the Torah is an individual’s willingness to step up on behalf of another, even at risk to him- or herself. The example of Abraham teaches that no one can get it right all the time, but each of us can rise to meet challenges beyond what we might have thought.
