CBS News has a problem with democracy. In their “service” of continuing their ongoing attacks against the Trump administration, they are making claims that otherwise make little sense.

Legacy media here always rushes to claim First Amendment protections for themselves whenever they are challenged.  But just this past month CBS fought transparency and the disclosure of an interview with Kamala Harris it had deceptively edited in advance of our election; claimed free speech was a major factor in causing the Holocaust, as Margaret Brennan did on “Face the Nation;” and platformed the defense of suppression of political speech in Germany on “60 Minutes” that same night.   

The last two were an effort to undermine J.D. Vance’s speech in Munich last week.

But Vance’s speech was important and historic—he spoke boldly, giving hard truths to an audience that included European leaders, challenging them to live up to their democratic values.

But CBS cannot handle the truth—which is why they seem so enamored with censorship.  When it suits their agenda.  And, note: that’s how democracies (and media credibility) perish.
