Today in History: Shabbat Shuvah (Sabbath of Return) falls during the days of awe and repentance, between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur. The name “Shabbat Shuvah” comes from the Haftarah in Hosea 14, “Return [shuvah], O Israel, to the LORD your God.” Shuvah means “return” or “repent.”
