To answer this question, we explore a transformative new approach to land management that has been adopted by the National Park Service. This new land management framework, known by the acronym RAD, was developed to help park managers who are grappling with the challenges posed by a rapidly warming climate. We speak with Patty Glick, one of the lead authors of the RAD framework, along with several other climate change experts whose work is focused on the landscapes of the Western US.
