Description
Jo joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) when she was a teenager, attracted by the morals and values of the man she'd end up marrying. She tried to ignore the patriarchal structure within the church but as her kids got older she became fearful of whether or not the youth programs were safe for them. At which point she had a full stop moment, "If they aren't safe for my kids, are they safe for anyone's kids?"
Jo's story is so incredibly relatable and I know many women will hear and see themselves in Jo's story.
