Awesome start to a series
This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster with the ups and downs. Tessa and Lukas were so thought out and amazing together. It is a clean read if you are looking for that. The way it is written was so beautiful I would recommend this for anyone

A quick read with some delightful characters!
Excellent! Being from the west side of the L.P. myself, it was a lot of fun to read a book situated in Michigan (and it gave me a special appreciation for the reference to lake effect weather). Lukas and Tess' characters are both hiding something that they believe could send the other running for the hills. The only thing is that it isn't until Lukas reveals his secret that Tess realizes that when hers comes to light she runs a very high risk of losing him. Both Lukas and Tess blame themselves for what happened, though for different reasons. Lukas is convinced his loss occurred due to his negligence, whereas Tess thinks she's to blame because she got drunk that night. Despite their concerns over how the other will react, they end up falling head-over-heels for one another. Along the way we get to meet many other delightful characters (and year-round residents on Mackinac Island) including Lukas' doberman, Dio. There's also Estelle, Lukas' 60-something-year-old co-worker with a penchant for prying into his love life, Doc and Marie (the man who hired Tess and his wife, the island's doctor - also parents to one of Lukas' best friends), Sara and Gavin (a fellow teacher and her husband), and, near the end, Conner and Jessica (one of Lukas' best friends and fraternity brother and his girlfriend). Despite Lukas' initial reaction to Tess' news, they do find their HEA. And while the book does end rather abruptly (no cliffhanger), I can't wait to see what happens next in Pyramids and Promises!

I Love These Dio!
This book shocked me, I'm not going to lie! I've only read the Dragon Kings so I was a bit aprehensive and I go into books "blind." Which means, I don't read anything about them ahead of time, no reviews, no blurbs, no nothing. I don't even look to see how many reviews a book has because I want nothing to sway my decision on reading anything. I loved this book! Wow! Kimberly Loth does it again, but in a different way, and I absolutely loved it! I didn't put the book down, just like her other series, which is a different genre. So, pleasantly shocked and thrilled that this author can pull me into her world no matter what! As soon as I'm done writing this, I'm off to read the next one in this series, which I purchased right before, so it has time to download.
