Southern California experienced an unprecedented downpour this weekend, with record-breaking rainfall in coastal and inland areas. The Southland has already received fourteen inches of rain since October, and just half an inch more could push totals to the average for a full year. The storms caused flooding, travel delays, and tragically, two deaths. However, the rain has significantly reduced fire risk, unlike last year at this time.
