Thousands of speeding tickets may be voided due to a software glitch in variable speed cameras. National Highways, responsible for the issue, has identified around 2,650 incorrect triggers since 2021. The problem affected about 10% of Englands motorways and A roads. Police forces will refund penalties and remove points from licenses for those wrongly fined. Enforcement continues using other methods.
