On today’s Show Me Today, we’re talking about Safe Haven Baby Boxes: A law Missouri passed in 2021 to give parents in crisis a safe, anonymous way to surrender a newborn. After two babies were safely surrendered at the state’s first box in Mehlville, a second box will be dedicated later this month.
Reporter Matt Pilger sat down with State Representative Jim Murphy, the lawmaker behind the effort, to find out why these boxes are spreading across Missouri.
