Seit ihrem Debütalbum „Neurotic Handshake at the Local Clown Party“ (2006) waren die Steaming Satellites europaweit und auch in den USA auf Tour und machten sich dabei nicht nur als beeindruckender Live-Act einen Namen: 2014 waren sie für den Amadeus Austrian Music Award nominiert, sie schrieben Songs für Filmsoundtracks (unter anderem für „Das finstere Tal“) und schafften es mit allen drei letzten Alben „Slipstream“ (2013), „Steaming Satellites“ (2015) und „Back from Space“ (2018) in die österreichischen Charts.
