The Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded last week to a report of a man running barefoot on a mountain pass during a snowstorm, a naked man who apparently didn’t realize his neighbors could see him and multiple intoxicated individuals.

The following incidents occurred between Monday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Nov. 3, according to the weekly log of notable calls published by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday, Oct. 28, a 911 call was received from a residence in unincorporated Silverthorne but no one stayed on the line. Deputies responded to see if there was an emergency and found an intoxicated male at the residence. He admitted to calling 911 but said it was a mistake, explaining he was getting used to a new phone. He denied needing any medical assistance. Nothing criminal was found.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, deputies received a report of a man running on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 6’s Loveland Pass with no shoes or shirt on during a blizzard. When the Dillon Police Department had contacted the man earlier in the day, he reportedly told an officer that he was training for a marathon and preferred not to wear shoes. Deputies checked Loveland Pass due to the inclement weather but were unable to locate the shoeless runner.

On Thursday, Oct. 31, a Keystone man purchased tickets to a Denver sporting event on Facebook and sent money via PayPal. The seller has since blocked him on Facebook and never sent him the ticket. The sale was likely a scam.

Also Thursday, a man in unincorporated Breckenridge met a woman online who sent him nude photos of herself. After the images were sent, the man Facetimed with her without a shirt on. Afterward, the woman, who had recorded the Facetime, replaced her image with that of someone who was clearly a minor performing sexual acts that made it look like he had participated in an inappropriate Facetime with a juvenile. She threatened to post the photos and his personal information online if he did not send money. The man did not send any money but instead reported the situation to deputies. A report was taken.

In another incident Thursday, deputies received a report of a man standing by the sliding door of his residence completely nude for at least 10 minutes. He reportedly did this several times and was visible from a common condominium area. No inappropriate gestures were made but three women and a juvenile who had seen the man were concerned. Deputies made contact with the man, who advised he was extremely high on THC and didn’t realize anyone could see him. He was apologetic and upset that a juvenile had witnessed him. No one wanted to press charges. The man was given a stern warning and advised to keep his curtains closed if he is going to be unclothed in his home.

On Saturday, Nov. 2, a woman in Summit Cove called for help when an unknown man was yelling and banging on her door, and then the neighbor’s door. Deputies made contact with the man who was highly intoxicated, rambling and had scrapes all over his legs, according to the Sheriff’s Office. When deputies tried to get him off the porch, he refused to comply and deputies detained him until EMS arrived on scene to assess him. He was taken to St. Anthony Summit Hospital due to his level of intoxication. Nothing criminal was found.

On Sunday, Nov. 3, a woman was watching live webcams in Keystone when she saw two men walk by the camera with headlamps on. Then, she thought she saw them start a fire. She reported the situation to deputies, who responded to the area. It was determined what the woman thought was a fire was lights on snowmaking equipment and no fire conditions or suspicious activity was found.

Also Sunday, deputies responded to a report from a home in unincorporated Dillon that a woman who one of the tenants had met on Tinder several days earlier had shown up uninvited and kicked in the side door, causing damage. The woman was highly intoxicated, her dog was running around and she was uncooperative with deputies, according to the Sheriff’s Office. After investigating, deputies issued the woman a summons, and advised her that the residents didn’t want her to stay. She reportedly told deputies she would sleep outside, even though she was not properly dressed for the adverse weather, and would be liable for any injuries she sustained. Due to her level of intoxication, deputies “felt she was a danger to herself as she was unable to make rational decisions with respect or care for her personal needs or safety,” the sheriff’s log states. She was taken to St. Anthony Summit Hospital for an “emergency commitment,” her dog was taken to the Summit County Animal Shelter and her vehicle was left in the driveway at the residence.
