I’m sure that most of us recall the scene towards the end of the 1939 movie classic, The Wizard Of Oz, where Dorothy clicks together the heels of her ruby-red slippers, saying, ‘There’s no place like home!  There’s no place like home!’  Dorothy says this, as she looks round to see the faces of the people she loves, and in that moment she captures the essence of what home means for each of us.  Home is a place we associate with familiarity, love, a safe place, a place of origin.  It’s the place we long to be after a long journey, or the place where we can be our true selves.  It is said that home is where our story begins…or home is a place you grow up wanting to leave, and grow old wanting to get back to…or a house is made of bricks and wood, but a home is made of hopes and dreams…or the ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.  Most of us have quite a romantic and idealised view of what home is, or perhaps should be.  But for some, the experience of home is not always that idyllic.  Today, we continue our journey with Jesus through the Gospel of Mark, and we join our Lord back in His own home town of Nazareth.  I wonder what kind of reception the towns favourite son is going to receive as He comes home…
