Description

Ben Davies, a counsellor based at Forest Holme Hospice, talks about how to support a friend or loved-one who has received a cancer diagnosis.

He explains how to begin conversations about cancer in a way that is supportive and respectful, as well as the challenges faced when someone is in denial or refusing treatment, while offering tips to offer support without being intrusive or impacting their own emotional wellbeing.

About Forest Holme Hospice:

Forest Holme Hospice provides palliative and end-of life-care and support to more than 1,500 people each year across Poole, Wimborne and the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset with advanced cancer and other life-limiting illnesses such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s, heart disease and respiratory illness.

Forest Holme Hospice Charity was set-up to ensure that everyone in the local community affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement gets the care and support they need, either at home or in our dedicated hospice facility.
