Surviving Sexual Assault and Finding Healing with Maria and Scott. Part 1
Description
This episode is the first part of a conversation with Maria Bishop, therapist and founder of "Breath of Courage," a non-profit organization that uses education, therapy, and creative arts to promote, guide and walk through deep healing and hope with survivors of trauma, and Scott Kinderman, survivor, advocate and Board Member of BeLeaf, a non-profit that seeks to provide a safe and compassionate environment to promote hope and healing after sexual assault.
In this section, we introduce Maria and Scott and the work they do to support survivors of sexual assault; we define myth and truth on what sexual assault is, the experience of sexual assault, and the signs of sexual assault in children.
If you want to listen to Scott's experience of sexual abuse, go to this episode in Candance Sanchez's podcast, "Unspoken: Conversations with Candance": "Breaking the Cycle with Scott and Scarlette Kinderman."
