The term sustainability is thrown around a lot. While we can understand its meaning, what does it look like and what are some ways we are already being more sustainable people.


Jose B. Rodriguez, International Associate AIA -  is a board member of AIA Chicago and has also served at the AIA Illinois Board and AIA Chicago Committee on the Environment. Jose has almost twenty years of experience in architecture and high-performance building consulting including sustainability and energy analytics after completing a Masters in Building Science and Climate Responsive Architecture at Arizona State University. Jose’s career has spanned from interior renovations and building construction to design documentation and sustainability strategies for commercial, hospitality, and master planning projects. Most recently,  Jose was the leader of the Built Ecology team at WSP in Chicago, and the sustainability teams at CH2M (now Jacobs) and SOM. Jose is passionate about the environment and climate action, a photography enthusiast, and an avid traveler targeting a visit to his 7th continent soon.
