This move aims to provide crucial emergency access in areas without traditional cell service, with the help of T-Satellite network. The service is now universal, allowing AT&T and Verizon customers to use T-Mobiles Text to nine-one-one feature. The companys President of Marketing, Strategy, and Products, Mike Katz, emphasized the goal of offering peace of mind, as there are approximately five hundred thousand square miles of U.S. land without cellular tower coverage. To use this service, you will need a compatible phone with satellite capabilities, and while the emergency text feature is free, other T-Satellite functionalities will cost ten dollars a month.
