Description
Malaysias national utility company, TNB, suffered over one billion US dollars in losses due to illegal cryptocurrency mining between 2020 and August 2021. Nearly fourteen thousand premises were found to be illegally using power for crypto mining, causing financial losses totaling about one point one one billion US dollars. TNB is collaborating with authorities to stop power theft and has seized Bitcoin mining machines. Theyre also installing smart meters to monitor energy usage and detect power manipulation in real time.
