Would realtors fake having an offer to raise prices?
I was looking at a house on the market and made an offer. The house itself had been sitting on the market for a long time now, with no offers to my knowledge (since November I think). Nothing wrong with it, it just needed some updates, which I'm fine with. Literally the next day, the realty company selling the house tells us that another offer has been made. While there is obviously a chance that someone made an offer, this feels too well timed to me. Would a realty company fake having an offer to get more for a house?
