Description
Snow clearing in Sweden was prioritized for highways over walkways and bike paths. An analysis showed that the impact of such practices was heavy, as three times more people were injured while walking in icy conditions than while driving. Also, the cost of injuries far exceeds the cost of snow clearance. So, the strategy of snow removal underwent a revision, and pedestrian paths were now prioritized.
