Talking to Heaven | Episode 18 | Have we really 'lost' those who have passed away?
Description
Lost isn't just a term the church uses to talk about non-Christians... The world uses it to talk about those who have passed away too. And let's be honest, the church uses that language too! We've all used that language, but is it time to upgrade our language!! What we say and how we say things is so important! Check out this episode where we talk about "those we've lost", and have we really lost them?! Hear our takes and let us know what you think!

2 Baptists & That Amish Chick is a podcast bringing you candid conversations about organized religion... The good, the bad, and the ugly. How we each broke free from it while holding onto our faith in God.
The Butterchurn Girls are three friends living in the Texas panhandle, searching after God in the aftermath of deconstructing from their religious upbringings.
Berlin was raised in Michigan as a hardcore independent fundamental Baptist. In her early 20's she ran from that faith and searched out multiple avenues to find closeness to God including non-denominational churches, crystal healing, and Buddhist meditation before finding the deep connection with God, Jesus & Holy Spirit that she was seeking.
Bethany grew up in the New Order Amish culture for 21 years before leaving it entirely. Her hunger for truth and curiosity about the world began to unravel the contradictions, spiritual abuse, and manipulation that are such a big part of that culture. She developed a genuine real relationship with God and realized He is nothing like what she’d been taught He is.
Leslie was born and raised in the Texas panhandle. Growing up she attended a local Baptist church, a Catholic school, and a Methodist after-school program. In college, she ran from God and it led her to travel the world and realize just how different beliefs are across the globe. After returning to the Texas panhandle, she experienced non-denominational mega-churches, and a season of church hopping, before finally finding a real relationship with God, and finally meeting Holy Spirit.
We invite you to hear our stories of deconstruction, and most importantly reconstruction no matter where you're at in your journey. We hope our stories and the topics we cover give you permission to establish, deepen and strengthen a relationship with God. The good, kind, loving heavenly father that he is, not the angry, punishing, manipulative god that many churches teach about today.
If you have topics you'd like to hear about, current events you want our take on, or would just like to give feedback feel free to leave a comment or you can always email us at thebutterchurngirls@gmail.com
