Our latest Tamil Innovators Spotlight features Prajeeth Balasubramaniam, General Partner, BOV Capital Ltd. Prajeeth is a serial entrepreneur and an active investor in early-stage companies since 2002. In 2009 he set up BOV Capital which today is a venture capital firm with offices in Singapore and Sri Lanka. He has been instrumental in creating the start-up ecosystem in Sri Lanka including launching the annual start up competition “Venture Engine” in 2012. He is the founder and director of the Lankan Angel Network which is the the first and largest angel network in Sri Lanka. In 2016 he set up the first VC fund for Sri Lanka under BOV Capital followed by the the Digital Innovation Fund in partnership with Dialog Axiata. He was a member of the National Steering Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is the Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural “Council for Start ups” and was instrumental in setting this up. Prajeeth engages deeply with investee companies in all areas including investing, building teams, GTM, follow-on fundraising and exits.
