Well-written Account of Very Personal Experience and Victory
Mandy has masterfully described this experience in such a way that, though it is all true, would rival the feelings that great fiction writers would produce. Fair warning to my friends who see my recommendation: she has used a few words I had never heard her say before. If you are thinking of hiring her to speak, though, I can assure you that she will always be appropriate for any audience.
Her recommended techniques have certainly helped her and would many others. From my Christian perspective, I understand the power and release forgiveness gives. Some of these techniques may help with the âhow.â
While for me the ultimate source of forgiveness is illustrated by the words of Christ on the cross. This reminds me of Corrie Ten Boom, who was able to forgive one of her former tormentors when she came face to face with him after she delivered a talk about forgiveness.
I highly recommend this book for any who are thinking of purchasing it.
This is an extraordinary story about the strength of the human spirit and the healing power of forgiveness.
This is an extraordinary story about the strength of the human spirit and the healing power of forgiveness. I was so moved when I read Mandy Bass' story and I believe it's a must read for everyone. While most of us haven't suffered a brutal physical attack, we have felt under attack and inadvertently given our power over to that person or situation through our anger and resentment. "Taming The Tokolosh" can be a catalyst to release those negative emotions that hold us hostage. This book inspired me to heal my own heart, and the exercises in the back of the book are the perfect tools to help do that!
WOW. Couldn't stop reading.
So I opened up the book on my computer Kindle reader this morning, just to read the first few pages and get started. Over an hour later, I was so caught up in the story I couldn't stop reading. I was finally literally dragged away from computer because 3 people were waiting for me in a meeting (BTW: I came back to the book and finished it before leaving the office for the day). The story is told is such vivid detail, it is amazing that she survived the brutal attack. But, what happens to her after is nothing short of incredible. Get this book. Whether you need to heal from a traumatic event or not, we all have our own Tokolosh's and this book will do your soul good.
She has taken this horrific experience and turned it into a beautiful message of love and forgiveness.
I absolutely love this book! I could hardly put it down. Mandy has the gift of helping the reader really "feel" what she experienced. She has taken this horrific experience and turned it into a beautiful message of love and forgiveness.
