Mathew had it right, at least the phrasing because now we are entering a period of international clashes. America is desperately and brutally trying to maintain its delusion of a world order under its control.
China and Russia most notably are refusing to give way to US dictat, the wider battlefront is in Gaza, Yemen, Iraq, and Syria. Since the revolution removing the Shah, Iran has been a source of inspiration in the Muslim world, driving the US and Israel into violent frustration. All anti-colonial forces around the globe need to see this picture clearly to save Gaza, defend Syria and completely remove the western "powers" from the region. Again, to borrow from Mathew, this is going to be a time of the "painful birth" of a multi-polar more democratic world.
