Some secret ooze leaks into a sewer and turns a couple of turtles and a rat into some kind of humanoid hybrid creatures. The rat teaches the turtles ninjutsu based on the teachings of his old owner who he would watch do moves. The turtles then spring into action after a ninja clan appears in new york that seems to have echoes from the past. In a strange twist, they eventually face the Shredder who is the same guy who killed their master’s master all those years ago in Japan.
