Tether Launches Scudo: Gold-Backed Stablecoin
Update: 2026-01-06
Description
Tether introduces Scudo, a new gold-backed stablecoin, to facilitate everyday payments and capitalize on rising gold demand. With one Scudo equaling one-thousandth of a troy ounce of gold, Tether aims to revive gold as a trusted currency option. The companys CEO and CFO, both from Italy, have named the new unit after sixteenth-century Italian coins. Tether holds over one hundred sixteen tons of gold, with XAUT tokens backed by sixteen point two metric tons. While XAUT gains traction in emerging markets, Tether faces criticism for not meeting global audit standards. Checkout Solipillow.com
