Thanksgiving : What emotions will you bring to the table? Part I
Update: 2009-11-15
Description
Holidays are famous for evoking different reactions and feelings. These emotions can range from joy, love, and hope to anxiety, shame, and sorrow. Past experiences and new expectations can keep us stuck in a place of false beliefs, might limit us from seeing new possibilities, and keep us from being in the marvelous present.
Call in anonymously and share the emotions you are feeling about your upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. What stories and beliefs are you creating about the future and which stories of the past are you still holding on to? Who are you hoping to see and who are you avoiding this Thanksgiving and why? What beliefs are you projecting on to others? If you are going to be "alone" this Thanksgiving, what are your feelings about that? Who are you not forgiving?
Let's get into a greater sense of gratitude and give thanks to the lessons that keep showing up in our lives so we can overcome them! Call in and be a part of this great emotional evolution.
This is a self-help talk show designed to present a powerful life practice and to empower those who feel stuck in their relationships, fears, and self-limiting beliefs.
Some fun Thanksgiving Stories:
Just Following Tradition
We visited our newly married daughter, who was preparing her first Thanksgiving dinner. I noticed the turkey thawing in the kitchen sink with a dish drainer inverted over the bird. I asked why a drainer covered the turkey.
Our daughter turned to my wife and said, "Mom, you always did it that way." "Yes," my wife replied, "but you don't have a cat!" (A. C. Stokers, Jr.)
Here's some things you can do to liven up YOUR Thanksgiving dinner
When everyone goes around to say what they are thankful for, say, "I'm thankful I didn't get caught!" and refuse to say anything more.
During the dinner, turn to your mom and say, "See, mom? I “told” you they wouldn't notice the cranberry was beyond the expiration date! You were worried about nothing!"
