The women discuss how feelings seem to get in the way of the message and the struggle of thinking outside of yourself when you’re uncomfortable, but now is the time to be uncomfortable.

Birmingham, Alabama went from being called Magic City to being called “bombingham”.

Upon arriving, the freedom riders were greeted with a beating from their opposers/oppressors. There was a photographer there to take photos and he was also beat, his camera was taken and the lense was shattered. The camera was tossed with the film untampered with, allowing for the photos to be shared in the paper, exposing the violence.

Although white supremacists continue to burn down churches following this bombing that shook the nation, the community continues to build.
