The Art of Holding Contradictory Beliefs: A Mind-Bending + Liberating Perspective

Description

This week, I wanted to express how I avoid dogmatism by holding space for alllll  possible beliefs (including contradictory ones) + why it feels important for me to stay committed to this.

Dogmatic beliefs create a false sense of certainty & security and can be harmful because they often involve holding on to rigid ideas or perspectives without being open to new information or different points of view. When individuals hold dogmatic beliefs, they may become resistant to change or challenge, which can lead to a lack of critical thinking & limited personal development. Dogmatism can also create a sense of superiority and entitlement, which can damage relationships and make it difficult to communicate effectively with others who hold different beliefs.

꩜ Why I give more of a pass to dogmatic people who follow organized religion than those who don’t

꩜ Dogmatic belief systems literally destroyed my life

꩜ Reality is VERY moldable⸺ My perspective on beliefs and how they alter our reality

꩜ Shifting belief systems can be easy

꩜ Physical realm beliefs are harder to shift than non-tangible realm beliefs (mental, emotional, spiritual realms)

꩜ ‘Facts’ are an increasingly fluid subject in my experiential reality

꩜ The art of holding two contradictory beliefs simultaneously

꩜ You get to choose the rules of your own game!
