The Astrology of Tina Knowles, Beyoncé, and Blue Ivy
Description
In episode 121 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield prepare for Mother’s Day in the U.S. by exploring the family synastry of Tina Knowles, Beyoncé, and Blue Ivy Carter.
First we work through Tina’s chart and see an expressive and cat-like Leo Rising. This Matriarch has a strong stellium in Capricorn (including her Sun) in her sixth house. It’s no surprise she made part of her living through the maintenance of manes (owning a successful hair salon). All of this energy in the sixth points to efficiency, and success, but through much effort (thanks Capricorn). We also see a lethal Saturn/Mars conjunction in Scorpio, telling us she has weathered difficult experiences that have transformed her into a "tough as nails" woman.
Next, we read Beyoncé’s chart with her newly verified birth time and agree that her fearless Aries Rising makes so much sense for the “Survivor” singer. With a Leo Mars, her drive is strong, radiant and reactive. With this dramatic Mars also making a square aspect to the ascendent, a hidden temper lies under the surface. Adding an exact Moon/Uranus conjunction in Scorpio we see emotionally intense and disruptive experiences in childhood have shaped her.
Lastly, we look at Blue Ivy's chart and see another Capricorn Sun that is already working hard and taking on responsibility at a young age. Her Virgo Mars shows a sharp and critical eye while a T-Square involving Mercury, the Moon, and Uranus tell us of high anxiety, erratic emotions and the need to break free.
When comparing each mother/daughter relationship, we find fascinating connections. First, we look at Tina and Beyonce’s synastry and see trine Suns in steady Earth, denoting a shared work ethic and desire for security. A Sun/Moon connection also shows mutual appreciation and emotional closeness. However, we also see square Mercuries, creating difficult communication and a Pluto/Moon aspect implying obsessive invasiveness and control.
Looking at the synastry of Beyoncé and Blue Ivy, we also have trine Suns in Earth and trine Venus’ in Air, conveying that they truly admire and appreciate each other and likely have a powerful friendship. We also discovered a repeat aspect! These two also share square Mercuries, again, signifying difficulty when it comes to communication and understanding. There is also a challenging Venus/Moon square, telling us the lines between equals/friends/family can get confusing and create tension.
All three generations also share trine Suns - they are definitely cut from the same cloth, just different shapes! Listen now to this fascinating family synastry episode!
