Epic has become an overly used word to describe pretty much everything.  But there are still instances where the word applies.  In the outdoor world, for instance, an Epic is when a backcountry trip goes awry and a safe return becomes uncertain.  A Backyard Epic is when this happens on a smaller scale. Something definitely went wrong, but you probably still made it home that same day.

Outdoor recreation can teach us a lot and when things go wrong we are given the opportunity to learn even more.  Today on 20 MINUTES OF TRUTH Colin is joined by his old pal Jay Getzel to swap stories of their own Backyard Epic's and to try and figure out how it maybe made them better people.
