Actor Joel de la Fuente, playing Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido of “The Man in the High Castle,” for Amazon is also known for his recurring roles on “Hemlock Grove” as Dr. Johann Pryce, as Ruben Morales on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” for 10 seasons and President Datu Andrada on “Madame Secretary.”
On stage, Joel has been performing a one-person play called “Hold These Truths,” re-counting the life of Gordon Hirabyashi, an American sociologist who is best known for his principled resistance to the Japanese American internment during WWII. The play has been performed all over the United States, earning Joel a Drama Desk Nomination in New York City and a Best Performance Theater Bay Area Award in San Francisco.He has also made appearances at the Williamstown Theater Festival & New York Shakespeare Festival.
His litany of TV and film credits include "ER,” the Sidney Lumet series “100 Centre Street,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Rescue Me,” “Hawaii 5-0,” “The Adjustment Bureau” with Matt Damon, and the independent films: “Ava’s Possessions” and "Personal Velocity" (Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner). Joel first broke into television with his role as 1st Lieutenant Paul Wang in “Space: Above and Beyond.”
