Description

Branko Kerkez, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan, and Crystal Bergemann, Senior Manager of Disaster Resilience at Verizon, join Newell to discuss an exciting new initiative. The City of New Orleans, Verizon, United Way of Southeast Louisiana, and climate-tech company Hyfi have partnered to launch a flood sensor initiative that uses Verizon’s 5G network to deliver real-time information about street flooding. The goal is to give both emergency managers and residents faster, more accurate data to prepare for and respond to severe weather.
