Join Dr. Darius Cureton and me as we discuss the art of Code-Switching between different groups and adopting the values, norms, or culture belonging to another group is called "code-switching." This term can be applied when a person feels like they don't belong in their original racial group but want it more than anything else. These types of identity threats challenge one's authenticity as well because there may always come across something that makes them question whether being part white means less instead; this puts pressure on every aspect: social status (a high position), privilege, etc., making all these aspects compete against each other rather than unite under common goals!
