The Feds vs. the Activists | Billie Holiday | 1
Description
Billie Holiday makes a decision. The jazz singer will perform "Strange Fruit," the protest song about lynchings, no matter what happens to her—and no matter how many times law enforcement tells her to stay quiet. But that puts her in the crosshairs of one federal official, who uses any means necessary to silence Holiday.

New found love for Billie Holiday. Great writing.
So distressing. How could/can these so-called Christians ever be allowed to enter those Pearly gates if there is, as they verbally acknowledge, a "just God"? Strange Fruits, enter into God's kingdom!
4k Black American men, women, and children were lynched in America? I question this number. Black Wall Street in Tulsa, OK may have had close to 2k lynched in less than 48 hours. I love Billie Holiday & her song Strange Fruit is beautiful & heartbreaking. Such a brave, talented, beautiful, & authentic voice.
