A hungry fox finds a piece of meat but gets distracted by hens. Despite a jackal's warning, the fox pursues the hens, only to be attacked by a dog. Returning to his original prize, he discovers a kite has stolen it. The tale teaches the dangers of greed and the importance of being content with what one has.
