Description

Having poked the hornet’s nest earlier in the week with a column and a feature on the WMR London 4pm Fix, Colin Lambert discusses the early – and extensive – feedback to those stories in the latest podcast, including, crucially, when is an order actually firm, and is more clarity needed in the FX Global Code?

Lambert is then joined by Keiren Harris, director of Data Compliance, to discuss the shifting sands in the inter-dealer broking and desktop terminal markets. Harris explains why he thinks the IDBs are at a critical stage of the existence, arguing this is the year they “evolve or die”.

He has ideas for how they evolve, so it’s not all bad news, but either way Harris predicts dramatic change in the near future – as he does in the desktop Terminal market, especially as the nature of how the industry uses data changes. Think Bloomberg is unassailable in the market data space? Harris may make you think again.
