Description

A life of service to one’s country is a noble thing. Perhaps, the noblest of pursuits by many accounts. On this episode, our good friend, Jay Lajoie, joins me and my Officially Unofficial (…now Official!) co-host, Lucas Orich, to discuss his 25-year career in the Army with the Canadian Armed Forces, from which he retired with the rank of Sergeant.

Jay shares how he started out in the military, his multiple deployments around the world, family life in the military, his time as a Service Rifle competitor for the Canadian Army and transitioning to civilian living after a lifetime of service.

Oh, and did I mention he’s a writer? Well, of course he is! Jay has multiple articles published in The Havok Journal, an online publication highlighting the stories of veterans from the US, and Canada.

Jay is a humble and soft-spoken veteran. A quintessential “quiet professional” and we were honored to have him join us to tell his story.
Thank you, Sarge!
