The Illegal Trans Woman – Ep. 47: Two Significant Wins for Trans Rights
Description
On this week’s show, we have two “Big Stories,” and I am thrilled to report that both are significant wins for the trans community! First, I dive into the Minnesota Supreme Court’s unanimous decision finding that USA Powerlifting violated the Minnesota Human Rights Act by discriminating against transgender weightlifter JC Cooper. I also cover the great news out of Oregon, where a federal judge issued an injunction to stop the Trump administration from erasing gender identity topics from federally funded sex education programs. For the Big Interview, I am joined by Sarah Jane Baldwin, a senior attorney at Gender Justice, to discuss the JC Cooper case in depth. She breaks down the details of this critical legal victory and what it means for future transgender rights, especially concerning school districts and student-athletes. Following the interview, we’ll have our regular News Bites and Random Acts segments.
