In Australia, we have a fondness for slang and acronyms that might be confusing initially to international students and newcomers. The LGBTQIA+ acronym (also known as the queer or rainbow community) represents the diverse and vibrant community of those with different sexual orientations, gender identities and sexes. In these episodes, Andrea, Joy and Budi discuss the basic terms you might come across in Australia (Part 1), and their experiences with services for LGBTQIA+ international students on campus and off campus (Part 2).
