The Lindy Boggs Medical Center may be redeveloped if voters approve a $500 million bond package
Update: 2025-11-07
Description
The long-abandoned Lindy Boggs Medical Center, closed since Hurricane Katrina, could finally be redeveloped, but only if New Orleans voters approve a $500 million bond package on November 15th. Developers Bill Hoffman and Paul Flower, who own the 13-acre site, say the project’s demolition and redevelopment depend on that bond funding, which would support citywide infrastructure and economic development. Developer Paul Flower joins Newell to talk about the decades-old eyesore.
