This week on The Local Take I speak with Imara Canady to share information about the upcoming Paradigm Shift Conference taking place on February 6th and 7th at The Loudermilk Center in downtown Atlanta. Friday, February 7th is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. The conference speaks to Black Women Confronting HIV, Health and Social Justice. Canady shares how the program came into being and that this year's conference is actually a summit bringing together advocates, healthcare professional and community members. He explains that while information will be available the summit offers an opportunity for "give and take." Participants will be encourage to share their stories and solutions. Canady encourages women of all ages along with a few good men to come out for the Paradigm Shift Conference. Keynote speakers will incude Angela Davis and Stacey Abrams to name a few.
