Episode 66: An Old Fashioned Lowdown. If they go high, we go low here on What We Watch When We Drink. Very low.

But we start at the top with a new whiskey from Milam & Greene. Provisions is a blend of their Texas pot-still bourbon with straight Kentucky bourbon, and then aged fully in Texas. They call the process “Texification”. We call it a great beginning to a podcast. We even make a cocktail with it to show off our mad bartending skills its versatility.

And we pair Provisions with the first two episodes of a new show on FX – The Lowdown, starring Ethan Hawke as “truthstorian” Lee Raybon digging into a corruption story in Tulsa. From the mind of Sterlin Harjo of Reservation Dogs fame, The Lowdown is one part pulpy crime drama, one part dark comedy, and two parts quirky characters shaken and poured over Raybon’s chaotic white knight journalism. It’s a cocktail we rather enjoyed.
