The latest US CPI numbers saw headline inflation rising, putting the chance of more rate rises on the table. But did that do anything to alter the local market?
MARKET WRAP:
- ASX200: up 0.46%, 7,186
- AUD: 64.32 US cents
- GOLD: $1,927 US/oz
- BITCOIN: $40,877 AUD
- Miners were among the strongest
- Lynas Rare Earths up just under 2% to $7.37
- Fortescue up more than 4% to $20.41
- Rio Tinto up 2 per cent to $115.45
- NAB announced its winding down its Hong Kong business which it says will take 18 months.
- NAB shares closed up more than 1% to $29.31.
- Retailer Myer announced it had posted its best annual sales since 2005
- Myer gained 1.6% to $0.64.
