The Nine Prophetesses
1 Samuel 25:36-40 KJV

“And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light. But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone. And it came to pass about ten days after, that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died. And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the LORD hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife. And when the servants of David were come to Abigail to Carmel, they spake unto her, saying, David sent us unto thee, to take thee to him to wife.”

The name Abigail is a feminine name of Hebrew origin that means "my father's joy" or "source of joy". It is derived from the Hebrew words ab, meaning "father"
", and g-y-l, meaning
"to rejoice"
In the Bible, Abigail is known as King David's second wife and one of the seven female Jewish prophets. She is described as a beautiful and intelligent woman who prevented bloodshed by approaching King David with diplomacy. Abigail's actions demonstrated her trust in God's justice and her wisdom and persuasion. She sought peace and reconciliation, and convinced David to spare Nabal and his household.
Abigail
Abigail's story echoes in the hearts of all women as an example of true submission and courage, even in the face of danger… In 1 Samuel 25, a beautiful story emerges, one of submission and deliverance. Abigail is a lesser-known heroine in the Bible, a humble woman who was married to a wealthy scoundrel. Abigail combined her wisdom with her wealth to appear before an approaching enemy to plead for the safety of her husband’s household.
David and 400 of his men were on their way to seek vengeance for Nabal’s foolish response.
