The One Trillion Dollar Problem: Key Findings from the World Security Report
Description
In the second instalment of the ISJ Leaders in Security Podcast, James Thorpe, Editor of International Security Journal, discusses the first-ever World Security Report with Rachelle Loyear, Vice President of Integrated Security Solutions at Allied Universal and Noah Price, G4S Academy International Director.
G4S and Allied Universal published their highly anticipated World Security Report in September of this year. The unique, first-of-its-kind report highlights that global companies lost a combined $1t in revenue in 2022 due to physical security incidents and also finds that economic unrest could be the greatest security-impacting hazard in the next 12 months.
Documenting the opinions of 1,775 chief security officers (CSO) – or those in equivalent positions from 30 countries – the new findings also suggest that the leaking of sensitive information is expected to be the biggest internal threat in the next 12 months (according to 36% of respondents), AI is top of the agenda for future physical security technology investment and people skills are reportedly more important than physical attributes of strength in frontline security professionals.
