The One Where We Talk About Domestic Violence
Description
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and I feel it's time to share my story, my experiences, and my perspective on forgiveness—or the lack of it. In this episode, I'm opening up about my own journey with intimate partner abuse; I'll be talking about the things I've been through, the emotions I've felt, and the challenges I've faced as a survivor.
But this is more than just a recounting of my experiences. It's also about challenging the notion of forgiveness. You see, forgiveness is often touted as a key to healing, but I don't think it's an absolute necessity. I'll share why I believe forgiveness isn't always essential, especially when you've been deeply wronged.
This episode isn't just about me—it's about all survivors finding their voices, breaking the silence, and raising awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and beyond. Let's have a conversation that matters, challenge some preconceived notions, and support each other on our journeys toward healing and self-empowerment.
