First up, the fallout continues from the IPCA's bombshell report into allegations against Jevon McSkimming. Police Commissioner Richard Chambers was quick to minimise the scandal to a few bad actors in an otherwise healthy system. Jan Jordan, emerita professor of criminology at Victoria University, doesn't buy it. Then, new adaptation guidelines suggest no more property buyouts, and much less support for those hit by bad weather. Martien Lubberink, Associate Professor of Accounting and Capital at Victoria University of Wellington says a tough reality is sinking in for homeowners.
