It was almost the end of the day. Everyone had packed up to check out of the Freezer Plant.

One man noticed that a technical snag had developed in the plant and he went back in to inspect it.

By the time he had finished, it was late. The doors were sealed in and the lights were turned off.

Trapped inside the ice plant for the night without air and light, an icy grave was almost sure for him.

Hours passed and with every passing moment, the dread started to trickle in.

Suddenly, he found someone trying to open the door.

“Is this a miracle?”, he thought.

The security guard entered with a torch, found this freezing man and helped get him out.

The puzzled yet grateful man asked the guard, “How did you know that I was inside? Who told you to find me here?”

The guard said, “No one, sir. This unit has about 50 people. But you are the only one who says ‘Hello’ to me in the morning and ‘Goodbye’ in the evening.

I noticed that you had checked in to work in the morning, but did not see you go out in the evening. That made me suspicious so I had to check and see where you could be!”

The man was astonished. He had never expected a  gesture as small as greeting someone to be a lifesaver.

Remember to greet someone when you meet them, and maybe add in a warm smile too!
