High protein diets are all the rage these days. We can recognize that protein is an important component of a healthy diet but I think it's clear that we've been going a little overboard.
If you scroll through health and fitness social media pages you'll see tons of lean and muscular people showing you how they're eating lots and lots of protein every day.
I have no issues with that, and even acknowledge that for some it is what's best! But for a lot of us out there, it doesn't work. It's too much. It's mentally unhealthy. And it misses one key component that is so often overlooked.
