The Replacements - Let It Be
Description
When The Replacements went into the studio to make their 3rd album in 1983, they found themselves caught between their punk roots and their desire to grow and change as artists. They had become unsatisfied with the rules that punk unknowingly had put in place. It was becoming more and more of a scene with expected styles and sounds; and deviating from that too much risked the ire of the crowd (not that they minded that). The resulting album, Let It Be, is-fittingly-their coming of age album, channeling their frustration with the music scene into the frustration of a teen coming to terms with his changing body (boners and all).
